Potato Activity
During our last ATL class, each of you participated in a strange activity involving potatoes! I would like you to respond to the following question: What do you think was the overall purpose of the potato activity?
I think the overall purpose of the activity was to learn that we might not all look the same on the outside but on the inside we are basically the same. Also, we might not look like we have bruises on the outside but on the inside, we might have bruises.( bad things that might have happend to us in the past).
I think the purpose of the actibity was to show us that even though we might all look different on the outside, we are all still the same on the inside, jsut like the potatoes, who all have different shapes and bruises, but all make equally delicous french fries.-Jacquie Levitan
The overall purpose of this activity was to show that everyone has a differnet story and they are all interesting in there own ways. The other purpose of this activity was to show that every potato was different and even though they were differnt ot bruised in the end, they were all potatoes. We, as humans may all look differnt but yet we were are human beings.
In my opinion the purpose was to teach everyone that alltough we all have scares and chips on our shoulders we all have an interestring story to tell. As Jamee said we all may look the same on the outside but just like potatoes we are all basicly the same on the inside. I LOVED That Activity!!!
what i think the potato activity was for since i was not there was that people are different on the oustide but in the insie thely are all the same this is what i think we were doing but i was not there and i would llike a potato andrew
I think that the purpose of this activity was to show us that even though we are all diffrent on the out side with diffrent shaped boduies and bruises we are still all the same on the inside.
I think the purpose of this P-O-T-A-T-O A-C-T-I-V-T-Y was that Potato are not jsut delicous food eaten by us humans. they are vegetables with feelings like us. But they can also taste goodMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
That people might differ in shapes and sizes, but in ther inside we are the same. No matter what skin colour, language, religion, culture or appearance.
" We are all either hard or soft inside" quoted from potato activty.
I think that the purpouse of the potato activity was to show that no matter what we/potatoes look like on the outside, we are all the same on the inside. -Theresa 7E
In my opinion we did this activity because, Ms.Shoniker wanted us to know that even though people are different on the outside we are all the same on the inside; we all have feelings and we should not judge people based on their appearance because, you don't know what they went through in life!
I think Ms. Shoniker aimed for us to learn that we all have importance and nobody knows everything about someone if they haven't been through everything they have.
I think the reason we did the potato activity, was to understand not to judge someone by their looks but understand how they are in the inside. -Nefertina 75
hi ms. shoniker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the purpose of this activity was to show that everybody is the same on the inside even though we might not look the same on the outside. Everybody deserves respect:)
The purpose of the activity was to be creative and to accept other people because even though someone might look different, he/she can be really nice on the inside. The potatoes all look different, but once you eat them, they all taste the same. ~Caitlin~ 7F/76
In my opinion, the purpose of this activity was to teach us a lesson about judging people and not to judge a book by it's cover (not literally). Lots of people these days look at people's clothes and the stuff they have, and not at who they really are on the inside. At the end of the activity most of us were attached to our potatoes because of their stories and most of us took them with us after the class...but most of them ended up getting smashed or thrown out :) -Sherin 76
This activity for me has mainly brought the idea of looking through things in different perspectives because everyone has a different story to say. Till now, we've thought that potatoes were a vegetable but now we can rephrase that everything no matter what it is, has a journey from beginning to end and everyone has the right to be heard with respect and we should be the ones to learn and benefit from the morals they convey. At least for a change look through a different lens (not literally.)
The overall purpose of this activity was that we should learn to respect each other like a potato. You might be wondering why. We do not discriminate a potato, but we do with humans. If we all treated each other like a potato, there would be love, respect and peace everywhere.
I think the overall purpose of this activity was that don't just judge people from the outside(their looks, how they dress, skin color), but we should look deeper. The outside might not show what they really are inside, that's why everyone deserves respect.

I think the purpose of this exercise is to show how to talk when it's your turn, and be silent when you are told to or when others are talking
